4G's Overcoming a fear poetry
4G have been creating poetry based on Maya Angelou's poem 'Life Doesn't Frighten Me.'
This week, across Year 4 we have learned about Maya Angelou to celebrate both Black History month and classical poetry. We read and performed her poem 'Life Doesn't Frighten Me' and used her style to create poems about overcoming a fear.
Here is an example written by HW in 4G.
Spiders ready to bite
At the stroke of midnight
They don't frighten me at all.
Climbing the wall
Ready to fall
They don't frighten me at all.
The webs they're making
They're not helping
They don't frighten me at all.
They're not giving me privacy.
Why are they getting so feisty?
They don't frighten me at all!
