Over the past few years Upton Junior School has raised money for Global Challenge's work in Uganda.  Our focus this year is on our Upton Pool but we wanted to let you know about this fundraising just in-case you wanted to support it personally:

On May 31st Rhodri will be running the Edinburgh marathon to raise money for Global Challenge's work in Uganda: "In a weak moment I said those words that haunt me: "I will run a marathon before I'm 40"...Oh dear, it's nearly twenty years later & I'm running out of time. I'm hoping to raise loads of money to give me the inspiration I need to run those 26.2 miles (especially considering 5 miles was the furthest I'd run before I started my training). Global Challenge was started by some people from Broadstairs who are a part of Queens Road Baptist Church. It does some amazing work in Uganda & all the money raised will go towards their work with children and those with learning difficulties."
