One Childhood - One Chance

Homework - 03.12.2021

This week and last week in maths, children in year 5 have been working on perimeter and area.

For your homework task this week, we'd like you to investigate the perimeter (and area if you feel confident enough) of items without your homes.

What is the perimeter of your TV? What is the perimeter of your dining room table? A book? Your rug? Your bed? Your dog's basket?

To complete this task, you will need a tape measure (ask your parents if you could borrow one of these) or ruler. Draw a simple outline of the objects you measure into your book and annotate (label) the lengths and show your working out to calculate the perimeter.

WARNING - please take care when measuring items (especially fragile items such as TVs) not to scratch or break them.

ps: apologies this homework blog has been updated late. Come and see you class teacher if you feel you will struggle to get the homework done this week.
