Weekly Review:

What a fabulous week we have had!

In Maths, we have deepened our understanding of angles, applying our knowledge to a range of problems, including measuring and drawing angles on the tables! Next week our learning focuses on reading timetables and solving time related problems.

In English, we have been writing our own commentary based upon a David Attenborough TV clip, the Racer Snake verses the Marine Iguana. The children have developed their descriptive language and the skills of creating suspense. Next week we will continue looking to develop description using figurative language within our writing.

In Topic the children have built their interactive displays using cams to move their signage. They have also started to explore the work by Alberto Giacometti - famous for his sculptures based on the human form. The children have begun to create a wire sculpture based upon his work. In addition to this Year Six had their wow day on Wednesday. The Wow day started with an engaging talk from the Boarder Force including a live demonstration from one of their sniffer dogs – Max. Then children then took part in first aid training, music and art work a fantastic day for everyone. Next week the children will be finishing their wire sculptures and completing their end of topic quiz. We also have on Friday a RE morning and then the jubilee celebrations in the afternoon.

The week was superbly finished off with ‘Dress to Express’ day – seeing the children express their personalities through their clothing choices was great for all to see.
