One Childhood - One Chance

Final term begins...

What a fantastic start to the term!

Tuesdays

4B and 4G are swimming this term

4R and 4Y are PE this term and need to BRING IN their kits

Our PE day will continue to be on Thursdays this term - Children should come in their PE kits.

On MONDAY:

Children will be taking a walk around the local area to find landmarks. They need sensible shoes, a raincoat, suncream, a snack and a water bottle. They will not need to take lunch as they will be back in school in time.

This week:

What a fabulous first  week we have had!

It has been Enterprise week in maths this week. The children have planned their own parties for the Queen, looked into costs and then presented to their teachers. In another class, children planned and designed their own shops and then sold stock to their peers!

In English, we began our new class text, The Boy at the Back of the Class. The children wrote character profiles using expanded noun phrases.

In the afternoons, we have linked our PSHE to our Enterprise learning in maths. We researched local charities in groups and then presented our findings to the class. Today, the children created posters to identify how the charities help and support our local community.

Next week

Next week, we will be starting our new topic, Beautiful Broadstairs. It begins with a WOW day on Monday.

In English, we will be focusing on descriptions of our best friends and researching Syria, which is where the main character in our story is from.

In Maths, we will be looking at turns and angles and line graphs.

Homework this week-

Children learnt about charities in our local community. For homework this week, we would like the children to answer the following question:

If you could create a charity, what would it be and why?

They can answer it in any way they choose. Try to think about who you would support, why and how.
