Termly Home Learning Task - Term 4: God and Mortals

This term we have been really impressed with the homework that the children have completed and brought in. Thank you for all the help that adults have provided in aiding the completion of homework. Here are some more of the great projects we have received:

English:

In English this week we finished our book ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’. It had a happy ending and we all cheered at the end. We wrote a newspaper report about the Festival of New Year firework display using a mixture of direct and reported speech.

Next Term, we will be starting our new book and will be writing a non-fiction, informative poem about the Victorians.

Maths:

This week in maths we finished our unit on transformations. We investigated different translations and reflections, including using the x and y axes as the mirror line. We finished the week with our post-unit quiz and completed some Easter-themed maths activity sheets.

Next term we will begin with conversion of measurements. This will include units of time and length.

Thematic Curriculum:

This week we had an RE focus for our afternoon lessons and looked at some of the parables of the Bible. They included ‘The Good Samaritan’ and ‘Daniel and the Lion’s Den’. We discussed persecution and explored key figures who have been an inspiration and stood up for what they believe in.

Next term we will be studying the local area and how it has changed over time.
