4R - World Book Week 2019
A huge success!
This week, we celebrated World Book Week. Our focus across the school was the book 'The Rainbow Fish'. In Art, we created our own rainbow animal (giraffe, cheetah/ leopard, bird, crocodile, tiger or zebra), using lots of different materials from glitter, to fabric, to tissue paper, that could give away a 'special feature'. We then used these rainbow animals to create our own version of The Rainbow Fish. There were some fabulous stories set in different locations around the world. In maths, we explored fractions using fish scales, created tessellation patterns using fish and made a fish using origami. In science, we created fact files for underwater creatures, including jellyfish, starfish and clown fish. Thursday was dress-up day and it was great to see such a range of costumes - some hand made, which featured such a range of sparkles, shimmers and very bold and bright colours. Our week finished with adults coming in to see the fabulous work produced and sharing some wonderful stories. Well done to everyone for their hard work!
