One Childhood - One Chance

Year 6 Weekly News 6.6.25

Welcome back!

What a jam-packed and exciting start to the term it’s been in Year 6!

We kicked off the week with a visit from Kent Police, who came to speak to our Year 6 pupils about the transition to secondary school. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to ask questions, build confidence, and discuss the changes and challenges that come with moving on to Year 7.

In English, Year 6 have been working on instructional writing and creating their own recipes for a Kensuke’s Kingdom-inspired soup.  They then turned their attention to dialogue as they questioned a range of Fairy Tale baddies including the Big Bad Wolf!

And finally, the school hall was buzzing with excitement as we held auditions for our upcoming production. So many children stepped up with courage and confidence—it was a joy to see! Rehearsals are now underway, and the children should have received a letter detailing their role and the costume required. If you have any questions about these costumes or need some inspiration, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or Miss Vary.
