This week in Year 6...
SATs Practice
Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the children will be completing a series of SATs papers in reading, maths and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). The purpose of these days is to allow the children to experience, as close as possible, the procedures and rooms that are planned for the actual SATs in May. We understand that children often worry about SATs, so we are giving them this experience for familiarisation and reassurance.
Finally, the most important thing approaching the SATs is that your child is happy. At this end, we will only ever ask them to do their best and we are sure that you will be reinforcing this message at home.
If you have any further questions, please do ask your child’s class teacher.
Yours sincerely
Year 6 Team
English
In English this week, Year 6 wrote a newspaper report detailing the first wave of evacuation during WWII. On Thursday, as part of our World Book Day celebrations, each Year 6 class headed down to their corresponding Year 3 class to enjoy some shared reading.
