Year 3 have had a brilliant week! Including the Viking Games, where children from across the Trust came to Upton for a morning of sports activities.
We also finally said goodbye to our beautiful butterflies. The children had a fantastic time brining the butterflies out of the nets one at a time on their fingers and releasing them into the world (see photos below).
In our thematic curriculum this week, we have completed our It's a Small World topic and the children completed an end of unit quiz.
In English, we have been writing a guide for how to look after a tortoise following a visit from a real-life tortoise on Friday last week.
In Maths, the children have been learning a range of different skill across the maths groups including; measuring mass and capacity, multiplying and dividing and using money.
In Maths, we continue will continue with multiplication and division, length and perimeter and some children will be moving onto fractions.
In English, we will be starting with a non-fiction write all about how to lead a healthy lifestyle.
In our thematic curriculum, we will begin the term with a Good to Be Me day when the children will learn all about the value of money. They will also be creating a business plan for enterprise day.
Next term Red and Yellow classes will be swimming on Fridays.
Homework will be set weekly on MyMaths and Spelling Shed.
It is also expected that the children are reading regularly, and completing their quizzes in school or at home.
Additionally, the children should be playing Times Tables RockStar regularly.
