One Childhood - One Chance

Weekly news 10.11.23

What a busy week we have had in Year 4!

Maths

This week in maths, the children have been learning about short multiplication, multiplying 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. We have really been putting their times table knowledge to the test!

English

In English this week, the children have been researching the rainforest and have written an article about the importance of the amazon rainforest. The week culminated with poetry writing for Remembrance.

Thematic

In the afternoons this week the children have begun their Maya topic. The lessons have had a geographical focus, locating the countries of Central America before beginning to create their own 3D map, using topographical features.

Homework

Please see the homework menu attached. The children need to choose ONE activity each week that they would like to have a go at. There are 15 activities to choose from to provide a wide range of options. When they have completed a piece of homework, they can send it in either in the book, through photos or bringing something to share.

An excellent week Year 4! Well done!
