In Maths this week,  the children will be mentally adding and subtracting decimals, recognising decimal equivalents of hundredths and recognising decimal equivalents of halves and quarters. Next week in maths, the children will be ordering decimals, multiplying and dividing by 10 with decimals and multiplying and dividing by 100 in decimals. 

In English this week, the children started the week meeting the author Tony Bradman. They got to hear some of his stories and also ask him some questions about his books and being an author! They also wrote about a new law they would like to introduce for the Big Legal Lesson. For the rest of the week, the children wrote a continuous diary entry from the perspective of a character in our text. The focus was emotive language. Next week, the children are going to be retelling the journey of Edward Tulane through pictures and also in 100 words! 

This week, the R and Y classes used Tinkercad to create circuits and test ways of creating a brighter bulb! The B and G classes were testing out different switches this week in a circuit. All children carried out a conductors and insulators lesson and evaluated their Tinkercad design. Next week, the children will be learning about the Christian story of Easter.
