In Maths this week we have completed our second unit on Fractions and completed 3 KIRFs to consolidate our prior learning. On Thursday we started our new unit and learnt how to recognise and compare decimals up to 2 decimal places. On Friday, it was Number Day and we all had a brilliant morning; making potions, solving ‘The Tower of Hanoi, creating beautiful land art and solving logic puzzles.

During our English lessons pupils finished their quest based on Gunnar travelling to Valhalla to avenge his father. The children developed action within their writing using powerful verbs and adverbs. We also read several chapters of our text ‘Viking Boy’ and we are loving every second! We cannot wait to finish to book and find out if Gunnar finally gets his revenge! Next week, we will be editing and improving our work and publishing a piece of writing into our publishing books!

This week we have explored levers, pulley and gears as part of our DT learning, ready for DT day! For homework this week, we would like you to identify any levers, pulleys or gears you can spot around your home. Draw a picture and state whether they are a pulley, a lever or a gear!
