Weekly Review:

This week in English we have been reading our class text ‘Leon and the Place Between’. The children have engaged with this text by predicting, summarising and using their inference skills. Year 6 have taken the image of the circus tent and writing beautiful setting descriptions using high level vocabulary and figurative language.

In maths we have started our Place Value topic. They have been learning to read and write numbers to 10 million, place these numbers on number lines and have been practising multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.

In UBBC year 6 have shown their fantastic research skills by investigating the history of Dreamland. We have looked at why this amusement park is so unique and how it has transformed since the 1920s. The children have also taken part in a tourism survey by asking questions to local businesses as part of their geography learning.
