What a great week in Year 6!

Key Messages:

  • Please send your child into school with a pair of outdoor shoes, so they are able to go on the school field.
  • Bs and Gs are swimming this term, please make sure they have their swimming kits on Mondays.
  • PE is on Tuesdays – children to come to school in the PE kit.
  • Parent engage session- 1:30 on Tuesday 7th. Please come in for some fun WW2 learning with your child. The children will be showing you what they have learnt, and you will then make some fabulous art work together. At 2:45 we would love you to stay to read with your child.

Home Learning Task

This week in our afternoon sessions, we have learnt all about the evacuations during the war. For your homework, we would like you to imagine you are being evacuated from a city or town, during World War Two. After learning about the different areas in the countryside, can you show where you are being evacuated from and to? Can you show the journey you would take on the train and who you are with, such as your siblings? Maybe you would have to take on the Mother or Father’s role of looking after them. Can you draw your name tag, and can you draw what you would take in your small case?

Weekly Review:

This week we have continued our text, ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’. The children have been planning and writing a non-chronological report on a new species of animal that has been found on a desert island.

What a great way to finish our week with National number day! The children looked fantastic and loved participating in activities such as mocktail making to test their measuring skills, logical puzzles, magic number grids and creating beautiful tessellations. Thank you to everyone who sent in a donation.
