4Y Speaker Competition
Today we held the first round of the speaker competition
4Y have been working really hard on writing their own speeches that answer the question: "what would you do if you ruled the world?" We had lots of fun takes on this and many serious answers too. Some children were creative and combined a fun element as a hook to get their audience interested and follow up with a serious issue about the world. One of our quarter-finalists, Isobel Borrie, did exactly this and blew us away with a wonderfully written speech about how we shouldn't waste food, among other world issues. Our second quarter-finalist is Farah Irani, who wrote and delivered a beautiful speech that tackled many of the ethical problems we face in life today.
Both of these super stars will be going through to the semi-final year group heats next week and only two winners from year 4 will make it to the finals at Ramsgate Arts Primary School in June to battle (with words) against children from other schools. Many thanks to everyone who took part, it was incredibly hard picking only two quarter-finalists!
