Mrs Budge & Miss Bunce's Maths Quiz Olympics!
We had lots of fun today in our maths lesson, when our classrooms turned into 'pubs', with drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks for the children to enjoy as they worked in teams to solve mathematical problems. Team names for both classes included ' The British Empire', 'The Mental Math-magicians', 'The Braves', 'The Maths Wizards', 'The Champs' and 'Spaghetti & Meatballs!' Rounds included quick-fire questions on the four operations, a round all about 'Fantastic Fractions', a picture round all about shapes, a 'touchy-feely' bag round, where the children had to name 3-D shapes through descriptions of their properties, and finally a quick-fire elimination round, where the children had to 'fire' a multiplication answer to beat their rival. The winning team from Mrs Budge's class ('The British Empire'!) can be seen in the photograph above - well done to Sienna, Dexter, Freddie and Ronny. The winning team from Miss Bunce's maths group were the 'Maths Wizards' - congratulations to Amelie R, Maddie and Berken.
