Dear Year 6 Parents
Year 6 PESE ‘Procedure for Entry to Secondary Education’ and Kent Test:
Kent Test results were emailed out to parents yesterday (letters should arrive today). If you would like your child’s test scores please contact the school office.
The staff at Upton would like to congratulate the pupils that have achieved a Grammar School place. Equally, to those children that weren’t selected for grammar school, we want to reaffirm how proud we are of each of you; your work ethic, commitment to learning and behaviour in school are first class, and if you continue to show such determination in your studies then you each have a bright future ahead of you!
The pressure of taking the ‘Kent Test’ only adds additional stress to an already emotive time for all of our Year 6 children and parents, as choosing the right secondary school for your child is such an important decision for a family to make. As a school we are here to support and advise parents through this difficult process – if you are unsure about any aspect of the PESE process and have any questions please contact your child’s Year 6 teacher or a member of the Leadership Team.
Please remember the most important factor in the transition process is that your child attends the school that will best meet their needs – the school that will enable your child to continue to flourish and enjoy their educational experience.
SCAF forms must be completed by 31/10/14. If you have any questions regarding the completion of this form, or the Parental Appeal process for a grammar school place please do not hesitate to contact us. Teachers and the Leadership Team will be available during ‘Parent Consultation’ afternoons next week to answer any questions.
Mrs M Lewis
