Upton Breakfast Club is a fabulous way for your child to start their school day.
The club has been set up to assist with working parents child care arrangements and we aim to be flexible where possible. If you work shifts we ask you to sign up for the minimum amount of days you would need provision – for example you know you work 3 days a week but the days change on a regular basis. We would ask you to sign up for 3 days and then let us know before the start of the week the actual days your child will attend.
Breakfast is served between 7:45 and 8:20am in the school hall. It consists of a choice of cereals, toast or rolls with a choice of spreads, fruit and milk. Children are offered a hot breakfast every Friday; this usually consists of one of the following: bacon in a roll or beans on toast. Water or fruit juice are offered as drinks. The children are asked to clean up their plates, bowls and cutlery once they have finished eating. After breakfast they join in a variety of social games and activities. These could include card games, singing, snooker, arts and crafts, a puzzle corner, reading or board games.
The children are supervised by school staff from 7:45am until they go out onto the playground at 8:40am when teaching staff are on duty. Unfortunately, we cannot accept children any earlier than 7:45am.
We charge £2.35 a day for each child to cover the cost of running the club, parents are asked to pay for a week in advance (i.e. on the first day of each week) and children will be registered in. All unattended sessions will be charged. This includes sessions missed if your child is absent from school due to illness or approved/unapproved leave.
If you would like your child to join the Breakfast Club please complete the attached form and return it to the school office.
