Roman Museum
4R's trip to the Beaney and Roman museum in Canterbury.
On Wednesday 4R had a fantastic time on their trip to Canterbury. Firstly we visited the Beaney, where we explored some Roman artefacts and looked around some of the exhibits in the museum. After lunch, 4R walked to the Roman museum in Butchery Lane. Here they saw the actual remains of a Roman courtyard. The next activity involved the children understanding the different types of weaponry the Romans used to become successful in battle, they then got to fire catapults at a wooden wall and knock it down, which they loved. Our final activity was to stamp our own Roman coin, using a hammer and anvil. The class had a fantastic day. Thank you for your continued support.
