We have been reading the Highwayman and thinking about the morality of Tim, the ostler, who informed the King's Guard of the Highwayman's plan so he would be arrested. Tim cannot have known that it would end in his love (Bess') tragic death as well as that of the Highwayman, but he did know that Bess would lose her love. Should he have told the Guard?
