What a term!
RE
This week, the children have been learning about Buddhism, focusing on its key practices and the importance these practices hold in the daily lives of Buddhists. They explored concepts such as meditation, mindfulness, and kindness, and discussed how these practices help individuals develop inner peace, compassion, and understanding. The children also learned about the significance of following the teachings of the Buddha and how these guide Buddhists in making positive choices and living a balanced, respectful life.
During next term’s RE topic, we will be exploring Sikhism.
Maths
In maths, we have been learning about fractions. The children have explored the difference between equal and unequal parts, helping them understand that fractions must be divided into equal sections. They have also been working on identifying and representing fractions of shapes, as well as finding fractions of quantities using practical and visual methods.
Next term, we will continue our topic on fractions, with a focus on finding fractions of amounts. This will help the children build confidence in applying their understanding to solve a wider range of problems.
English
In English, we have been writing an information text about Boudicca. The children have used their knowledge from their thematic learning to create their own informative pages. They have focused on using a range of organisational features, including headings, subheadings, captions, and a glossary, to present their information clearly and effectively.
Next term, we will move on to a new text, The Great Chocoplot, where the children will explore new writing opportunities and continue to develop their skills. We can’t wait!
