  • Children can come to school in their PE kit on swimming days.
  • Please ensure children are wearing the correct school uniform and shoes, including a tie.
  • Please ensure children are bringing in their water bottles every day, preferably with a sports cap.
  • Wellies are needed so that the children can access the field during break and lunch times.

English:

This week in English, we wrote a fact file to outline Early Islamic inventions and achievements using correct organisational features including subheadings and bullet points.

Next term we will begin our new book: The Song of the Dolphin Boy.

Maths:

In maths this week, we concluded our decimals unit by dividing and multiplying decimal numbers by 10 and 100 and completed the post-unit quiz.

Next term we will begin with area and perimeter.

Thematic Curriculum:

This week during our afternoon lessons, we looked at the Buddhist festival Vesak (Buddha’s birthday) and had a visit from a Buddhist monk who spoke to the children about what Buddhism is all about. The children were able to handle artefacts that are used during meditation and other Buddhist practices.

Next term we will have a look at rivers and the water cycle.
