Term 5: Water World
This term in Year 4 we have been learning about rivers and the Water Cycle.
English:
This week in English, we wrote a persuasive letter to a local MP to convince them to stop the opening of a large supermarket and the mass balloon release.
Next term we will start by writing a description.
Maths:
In maths this week, we have been completing a range of problem-solving activities involving measure and money. The children worked with a partner using a range of strategies to solve the problems.
Next term we will continue with more problem-solving activities.
Thematic Curriculum:
This week during our afternoon lessons, we looked at how water changes state between solid, liquid and gas. We celebrated our learning by making ice cream, which was delicious!
Next term we will be exploring Broadstairs.
MTC
During the first 2 weeks of Term 6, Year 4 pupils will complete their multiplication tables check. This is a 25 question assessment where the children will need to answer times table questions within 6 seconds. The children have been working exceptionally hard on learning their tables and their progress is phenomenal. Please continue to work with your children to learn their tables over the half term in preparation for the week beginning 1st June.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher or Miss Lewis (Head of Year 4).
