This week has been incredibly busy, but also very productive!
One of the highlights was our fantastic trip to Wingham on Tuesday. The children had a wonderful day filled with sunshine, fun, and engaging workshops.
During our visit, we met one of the orangutan keepers, who shared fascinating facts about orangutans, their habitats, and the challenges they face in the wild. The children listened carefully and asked some excellent questions.
They also took part in a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle workshop, where they learnt how making small changes can help protect the rainforest. As part of the workshop, the children reused a variety of materials to create their own mini-bug hotels, encouraging wildlife while learning the importance of recycling.
In the Rainforest SOS workshop, the children discovered the impact of palm oil production on the rainforest and explored what we can all do to help protect these precious environments. They also experienced a rainforest biome, where they saw a range of rainforest animals and gained a greater understanding of the incredible biodiversity found there.
We are so proud of the children, who represented our school brilliantly throughout the day. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and impeccable behaviour were a credit to themselves and the school. Well done, everyone! It was a memorable day of learning, teamwork, and fun.
Upton’s Got Talent
This week, we enjoyed the excitement of Upton's Got Talent!
A huge well done to all of the children who auditioned. It takes courage to perform in front of others, and every participant should be incredibly proud of themselves for giving it a go.
A special congratulations goes to our four Year 3 children who made it through to the final. Their performances were entertaining, confident, and showcased their wonderful talents. It was fantastic to see them work so hard in preparation and step outside of their comfort zones to perform in front of a large audience.
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part. Their enthusiasm, determination, and bravery made the event a great success.
Well done, everyone!
