This week in English, we began reading Leon and the Place Between, which is centred around a magic show in a circus tent. The children looked at the wonderful illustrations and wrote a setting description using a range of adjectives.
Next week, we will be writing a character description for Abdul Kazam.
Maths:
In maths this week, we started by looking at 4-digit numbers and the value of each digit. We also ordered and compared 4-digit numbers.
Next week we will begin to look at rounding
Thematic Curriculum:
This week during our afternoon lessons, we began our Thematic topic: Walk Like an Egyptian. The theme is Ancient Egypt. We looked at the roles in the social hierarchy and played Hedbandz to reinforce learning, and put some key events on a timeline.
Next week we will look at the importance of the River Nile.
