Fantastic fun, learning independence and building self-confidence was the lesson for Upton Juniors children on a special sleepover adventure at the AirHop Adventure and Trampoline Park at Westwood Cross.

The residential one-night for the Year 3 group was packed with excitement, laughter and plenty of amazing activities.

These included jumping and climbing to exploring the different challenge zones, and the eager pupils demonstrated their amazing energy and teamwork throughout the evening.

After all the excitement, the group enjoyed a delicious pizza feast before settling down for a movie. Following a good night’s sleep, the children woke up to a nutritious breakfast before heading back for another energetic bounce session.

The next treat was a short walk to the VUE cinema complex to become engrossed in the Super Mario Brothers film. Back at school, the children enjoyed lunch before making the most of the sunny afternoon with a range of activities on the school field.

Head of Year 3 Becky Andrews explained the positive benefits of the sleepover. She said: “Our residential was a huge success and provided the children with opportunities to build confidence, independence and friendships while creating memories that will last for years to come.

“It such an incredibly valuable part of our children’s personal development, which is a cornerstone of our curriculum at Upton.

“We are so proud of these pupils for stepping out of their comfort zones with such positivity and enthusiasm. It has been wonderful to see how well they embraced new experiences, creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.”

Head of School Darci Arthur added: “What a great adventure for our Year 3 group. It gave them the chance to enjoy a new experience and it has further strengthened the bonds within the group.

“All the adults who planned and supervised every aspect of the trip and made it such a highlight of the year deserve huge thanks.

“Upton is incredibly proud of the children’s behaviour, enthusiasm and positive attitudes throughout, making the residential a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

“It is another example of Upton offering great lessons in life for our children.”
