Term 1 Art Competitions

Click to find out the details for this term's art competition. There are two parts so read carefully.

Year 4 Art Project with The Turner Gallery

This year, we are lucky enough to be part of a very special art project with The Turner Gallery in Margate. It is based around our local environment and its conservation and empowering children to be environmental champions through art and education. We will be linking up with local environmental charities and artists from the area to create a piece of art that is unique to our school and will be displayed at The Turner Gallery in the summer. We need 10 year 4 pupils to be a part of this wonderful project, so if this sounds like something that would interest you, then you need to:

  • Write a letter to Mr Mason explaining why it is important to look after the environment

OR

  • Create a piece of artwork that shows the importance of protecting our coasts and natural areas.

The deadline for this is Friday 26th September and participants will be notified on Monday 29th September.

Term 1 Art competition

Term 1’s Art Competition is inspired by Henri Rousseau and his famous Jungle paintings. Rousseau’s work often captured dreamlike visions filled with exotic plants, wild animals, and imaginative scenes. Now it’s your turn to do the same!

Your task is to create an artwork in any medium (painting, drawing, digital art, collage, or mixed media) that communicates a dream you have had – just as Rousseau brought his dreams to life through his Jungle scenes. The deadline is the end of Term 1 and you must submit your artwork to Mr Mason. Winners and selected works will be featured in a special exhibition in Term 2.

Let your imagination roam free – whether your dream takes place in a jungle, under the sea, or on another planet, we can’t wait to see it come alive in your art!
