4G's Trip to London

Natural History Museum and British Values
This week, year 4 enjoyed a trip to London, specifically the Natural History Museum as part of Our Planet topic. The children got the chance to take part in an action packed volcanoes and earthquakes theatre workshop which saw children work together to train up as scientists to save the residents of Volcano Town! Later on, the children got the chance to visit the volcanoes and earthquakes exhibit, travelling up the famous escalator right into the centre of the Earth. They loved exploring the exhibit and learning lots of new facts but the highlight had to be the earthquake simulator at the end!
In a week where children had been learning about British Values in our lessons and assemblies, it was apt that our coach journey took us past many of sights of London, such as 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament, where the British Values of democracy and the rule of law and decided on and practised. For many children, this was their first time seeing these sights and they enjoyed the guided tour provided by their teachers and bus drivers.
