Year 6 become roving reporters!
Year 6 put their journalistic skills to the test when preparing to write newspaper articles!
This week, Year 6 have been working towards writing their own newspaper articles. Upon finishing our current text, Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick, the children prepared for their writing by interviewing one another, choosing the roles of either one of the novel's characters, or a local reporter. We then transcribed the character's responses, focusing on writing both direct and reported speech. The children are now keen to 'file their copy', as their editors need their piece in by the end of the week!
