The book I've just read is the Explorer by Katherine Rundell 

Its a very good book with exquisite pictures and illustrations.

The book is  393 pages long and has won the Costa book awards 2017.

The book is about a 12 year old boy called Fred who is on a plane with two girls named Con and Lia,

Con is 12 and Lia 10.

Lia has a younger brother called Max.

Max is 5 and cries a lot.

They are flying home from Brazil across the Amazon jungle when the pilot starts to belch violently and cuts the engine leading to a plane crash.

Then they have to survive in the jungle alone.

They find a sloth called becka and keep it as a pet.

They then find a man who gives them a plane to get home.

It's a really good book and I'd rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
